Let's talk about God

Let’s talk about God

The Most High Supreme Being, All-Powerful and Omniscient, and above Him there is no other. Because God is, He cannot be comprehended even when He is studied by His creation.  He will remain infinitively a mystery.  God; He is not human, not limited by time or space, not imperfect, because God is by essence divine; therefore, He exists eternally and infinitely.  Our task (His creation) is to believe in Him, accept His favors and worship Him for who He is.  He is also a loving and good God, He has revealed himself to humankind in order that His creation may have communion with Him; and may experience the unknown.  What do you know about God?  How did you come to that realization?

If you want to get deeper in the journey you may find the following arguments intriguing:

Argument by Creation - Was the universe created? If so, then it must be the result of a Creator.  What light do the laws of science shed on all this?

Argument by Design - Is the universe the result of intelligent design?

Argument by Morality - What dictates humanity’s actions and how are they measured?

Argument by Revelation - If we can conclude that there is a revelation that God has made to man by experience then there is a relationship between God and humanity, as well as, God and his creation.

Is there a Higher Power, a Supreme Being through which everything else came into existence? What do you think?

Daniel, Notes on Exclusivity This is what I got ; ... Bigotry takes many forms. Some people or things are attacked directly (insulted, Killed, beaten up etc) but another expression of bigotry is done through excluding the "offending" person or thing through lack of access or privilege. A country club with a sign saying "no jews allowed" is a form of bigotry. A sign on a restaurant door in the 1950s saying "whites only" or "niggers to the back of the bus" or other, classic types of bigotry based on EXCLUSIVITY. Not allowing women to vote, based solely of the fact that they are female, is also bigotry based on exclusivity. In short, restricting a group or class of people from something beneficial (such as admission into "heaven", or, the reciprocal ; punishing them for not being of a certain group, ... is bigotry. Bigotry is bad. Bigotry is an evil. Bigotry is unjust. Bigotry is something that a "good" God would not engage in. According to many people who identify themselves as "Christian", one of the conditions of "eligibility" for entry into "heaven" is acceptance of Jesus as a divine entity or "acceptance" of Jesus as their personal savior, etc. If true, according to the Priciple of Universal Morality, such a condition would constitute bigotry. This is in direct conflict or contradiction with the idea that God is good. Example ; A well-behaved person that led a relatively sin-less life, did their best to help others, etc, that remains unconvinced of the supernatural status of Jesus Christ; --- which is a THOUGHT or "thought process", cannot gain entry into heaven. In fact, even though he was a "good person", for his thoughts, ... he must burn eternally (burning, according to the medical community, is the most painful injury known) in the "Lake of Fire". Where is the flaw in this logic ?

Response to Armin Notes on Exclusivity Your argument about exclusivity and bigotry is well received and I hope the answer I am about to share with you may help you define clearly the concepts you are bringing up. If we can respect the rules of logic and engage in a decent and helpful exercise of our minds and intrigue until we find the truth then your soul may rest in peace and your journey may be a pleasant one. In order to give careful treatment to your argument, I have divided it in four parts, to make sure that I understand your position. 1. Bigotry is something that a "good" God would not engage in. 2. According to many people who identify themselves as "Christian", one of the conditions of "eligibility" for entry into "heaven" is acceptance of Jesus as a divine entity or "acceptance" of Jesus as their personal savior 3. If true, according to the Principle of Universal Morality, such a condition would constitute bigotry such a condition would constitute bigotry. This is in direct conflict or contradiction with the idea that God is good. 4. Example; A well-behaved person that led a relatively sin-less life, did their best to help others, etc, that remains unconvinced of the supernatural status of Jesus Christ; --- which is a THOUGHT or "thought process", cannot gain entry into heaven. In fact, even though he was a "good person", for his thoughts, ... he must burn eternally (burning, according to the medical community, is the most painful injury known) in the "Lake of Fire". Bigotry is when somebody thinks that all their own personal beliefs are the only right ones and no one else's counts. When someone is totally devoted to his own prejudices especially when one regards or treats the members of a different group with hatred and intolerance. Narrow-mindedness, bias, discrimination; Jim Crowism, dogmatism, fanaticism, injustice, partiality, provincialism, racialism, racism, sectarianism, sexism, 1. On your main premise, I do agree with you. Bigotry and an essentially good God cannot coexist at the same time. God as an essentially good being cannot possess, think or act against his own essence which is moral, ethical, just, and holy. Yes, bigotry exists and has its existence from a limited, imperfect, and a reproachable mind. If God is either unjust or rejects people without reason whatsoever then that would say something questionable about his essence. 2. On the second and third points I think there are other factors that accompany the acknowledgment of Jesus as Savior and Lord. Remember the main premise you established was that God is good, let us not change the focus. There is no way that God will act against his own will. That would be contradictory to his divinity. In His goodness He established some ends but to get to them, those ends are determined by conditional means which are decided by His creation. God is not responsible for people’s decisions. By establishing ends God does not engage in bigotry; He cannot go against His divinity. You mention entering into heaven. Yes, accepting Christ as Savior is a means, and is conditional. A person needs to believe, to repent, change his habitual lifestyle, he needs to follow Christ, and he needs to love God because He is good. These are conditions for each and every human being (universal) without exception and these have to be acts which are operated by free will not by obligation but willingly. Salvation or entering into heaven is not a ticket given to selected people who God decided to save or that He has decided to send to heaven. A good God cannot do that. A good God gives equal chances to everyone, the same time and opportunity for each person to exercise their own will to make a choice. 3. Your example does not quite illustrate or prove that God is engaging in bigotry or that He is unjust. Let’s follow your procedure of reasoning. You mention a good man, even sinless. What norm or standard do you use to judge a man to be good or sinless? Perhaps in relation to God’s standards or God’s high ethical holiness code. Let’s examine this issue a little bit. Remember God is good, and there is no sin or evil in God’s nature. But we know evil and sin exist because of human wrong and bad decisions they have taken. They only way to correct human wrong doings is by someone who has not done sin, bad things or wrong doing. Yes, that person is Jesus Christ. That is why it is necessary to accept him and follow him; not because man may have the ability to live a righteous life on his own but because Christ has done all the work human beings needed to be saved and to enter into heaven.

A lot of social issues and topics were being discussed nowadays. The weather, climate, and the hiking of different products that were being sold to the Mercado. But for now let’s talk about God. Do you believe that God is waiting for us to repent our sins that we committed? Did you know that the most precious gift that we’d received was God? The time has so much to offer to us and all that we need to do is to use those times to give a prayer and have a conversation with God.

Why is "our task" to worship Him ? What is so insecure in His psychology or emotional sense of self-confidence as to need or want us insignificant lower life-forms to worship Him ? Why would a supreme being, confident in his divinity, need others to recognize and "worship" him ?

I am really interested in reading a blog like this. It tackles about God. As a devotee of God, I truly want him to talk about every single second of my life. Because I know, He is our savior, our way, our truth and our life. Without him our life here in these worlds will be so boring or maybe we are not here. In our ministry, we always share what’s happening or what miracles did God let us be experienced. I really love God. Thank you for posting a blog like this. I am hoping that I will read another blog like this soon.
